Miss America Comes to Chicago!

I was honored to have been requested to tape Miss America as she accepted many awards at the Chicago County Building yesterday. Afterward I was invited to sit and be a guest of Elizabeth Bertucci, and accompany the crowned beauty at the Chicago Yacht Club, where Mayor Daley and his wife (recently out of the hospital - band still on her hand) and ate a meal with Miss America Jennifer Berry. A light hearted Oklahoma resident, 24, proud brunette, I asked her various questions to get in the mentality of the reigning queen. She loves Blue Bell Icecream, and has a huge affiliation with M.A.D.D. Very fun and honestly a sweetheart she was accompanied by her chaperone Bonnie, who has been with the Miss America Pageant for over 35 years and traveling with them for 18 years. What wonderful stories Bonnie told. The lunch ended and I was invited to go to the Miss Illinois Pageant on Saturday - Now let's hope I can get off work to make it!
